Suffering with dementia, my auntie lived out the last few years of her life in this lovely care home where the staff were very supportive, friendly and caring. The home is set in mature grounds and is superbly decorated.

I visited this home with a view to my mother staying there. As I stepped in the porch the stench that hit me was disgusting. As I entered home it only got worse. When I asked about the smell I was told that it was " toileting " time. I thought I misheard them. They showed us around and as we went into the different lounges you could tell by the smell as you passed residents , who was actually sitting in soiled pads. I felt so sad for the residents. In one lounge there was a carer sat there but there was no interaction with the residents. They also told me that there is always 7 cares on but I only saw 3 and one of them disappeared and the other was the one not interacting with the residents. They have another home in coventry The Willows which I also visited but they would not let me in. They said I had to make an appointment. It was not meal time. I asked why I needed an appointment but was told that they were busy. I told them I was worried about that as you should not have to make an appointment . I understand if there was an emergency or they were understaffed but all they would say was make an appointment . I have always worked in care and I am employed in a care home at the moment so this just rings very big alarm bells . I will never step foot in them homes again and I would advise no one to leave there loved ones at these homes.
