I visited a friend recently who was in Hoar Cross suffering from Cancer I was informed he was very ill by the family. His family were assured by Hoar Cross that they catered for end of life care. I visited for 3 hours. When I arrived my friend was asleep but soon woke up he was in agony no other word for it. We called the sister on duty and stated he needed pain relief, which had been prescribed by the Doctor. This took nearly 1 hour to get. My friend was still in agony when I left 2 hours later. I do not think this is reflective of end of life care and pain relief management. My friend died 5 days later. |

was once full of lovely caring staff and not a bad word to say about the home but i could see the way the care management was pushing them all out. the food is good but terribly run home, if another family member of mine was to need care i would not take them here unless the management has gone and the young happy staff was back. i was only ever here during the day so i cannot speak for the night duty |

My elderly aunt came for a couple of weeks of respite after a hospital stay from a fall to help her fully recover. As she loves the countryside, the views were excellent and so was the care from all the staff. She felt very homely and welcome with a friendly atmosphere throughout, and will definitely be returning back in a few months to give the family another break. |
