I can't praise this home enough. Although sadly, my mother was only there for just over 8 weeks before she suddenly passed away. However, during that time her care was excellent from the day she arrived. She had Alzhimers. Kind, caring, compassionate, professional, loving I could go on! We moved from a dreadful care home in Stanley, after she spent 18 unhappy months there. So pleased that those last few weeks were happy and she was looked after well and given dignity at all times. Spotless everywhere. Food superb. Rooms spacious, bright and clean with ensuite facilities to all. You can decorate to suit your needs with all your own belongings etc. Plenty of activities and various types of visiting entertainment every day/week. Singers, pony therapy, karaoke! Every member of staff was pleasant. Nothing a trouble day or night. They went over and above their duties. Constantly working hard. Management were top class and had a wealth of experience in caring for all residents. They provided end of life care, with nursing care, that was totally unexpected but acted like family during this time taking care of everything necessary to help ease our pain. The residents were all very happy in their environment and treated well. The home was decorated during my mams time there. It was hardly necessary as still looked pristine. Huge lounges with fabulous views and a nice garden area and sensory room. Internally walls and wide corridors had lots of memorabilia, pictures, musical instruments, wartime souviners etc. People were clean and well presented and I will truly miss visiting them with my young son. He enjoyed dancing and singing for them all. Children and animals made very welcome. I would have no hesitation in recommending anyone to let loved ones live here. They will be looked after well and you can go home knowing they will be safe. My mother was a self funder for all her care needs and although I think this is sometimes unfair that the government rule this, it was worth every penny those last few weeks of her life. They deserve to be outstanding and they were, for us. Also the home is on a good bus route with stops right outside the doors,
