Picktree Court Care Home caters for& 62 older persons requiring residential care on the ground floor and first floor with& a further& 26 beds on the second floor providing nursing care, all provided to an exceptionally high standard.
Picktree Court Care Home is ideally located in Chester-le-Street town centre and is in close proximity to Lumley Castle and the surrounding park and riverside areas and boasts the following& facilities:

Picktree Court Care Home has been designed and fitted out to match a 5-star luxury hotel image with our priority being to provide excellent standards of care to all of our residents.
We are able to take bookings for new resident admissions, and indeed assist those individuals who may be in existing care home facilities but wish to transfer to this prestigious development.
We will assist in all required transfer arrangements should an individual wish to transfer to either Durham House or Picktree Court Care Home.
If you are unhappy with, or concerned about the stability of your present care provider, we are able to offer you a seamless transfer on your behalf to a reputable provider who has been in the industry since 1988 with an excellent track record and reputation.

Aug 19 2019 Picktree Court Care Home was 1 of 16 care homes we visited around the Durham area (December 2018) and we were warmly welcomed and shown around. It eventually became our Number 1 choice care home that my sister and I chose for our Dad after suffering a severe stroke. We found the Manager to be extremely informative as he showed us around the home. Owned and managed by his family since it was built, he was rightly proud of the home as he showed us various rooms available. We were both impressed by the size of the rooms with en-suite facilities. The care home is on 3 levels depending on the level of care required and I liked the idea that the nursing staff were allocated a particular floor so that the resident became familiar with the staff member and the staff were not swapping between floors potentially causing confusion for the resident with unfamiliar faces. We could visit at any time and stay as long as we liked. We found all the staff to be very friendly to ourselves and more importantly, to our Dad. Unfortunately, our Dad passed away (a lot earlier than anybody had anticipated) and I found the staff and Manager were very kind, sad and caring towards us. The Manager even attended our Dads funeral, which was held very early on a morning in Durham City. My only criticism would be that vehicular access/car parking can be a problem at some times. At the time my Dad was a resident, some work was being outside which exaggerated the car parking problem.

Jun 25 2019 Picktree were admirable in caring for my mother over March to June 2019, both on the ground floor and in a palliative bed. Staff were very patient, friendly and attentive. The ambience of the home was calm and comfortable.

Mar 11 2019 I was lucky enough to secure a long term home for my belated father at Picktree Court.He spent the last 2 and a half years of his life in this wonderful care home, over 2 years on residential and the last 3 months in nursing care. After inspecting many homes at the time there was no hesitation that this was the number 1 choice and my first impressions proved to be correct. EVERYTHING in this home is to be praised, all staff, carers and nurses are unbelievable and do a fantastiic job at all times. The decor is wonderful, rooms are spacious and kept well, food menus change regularly and there is a great activities team who arrange all sorts of entertainment for the residents 5 days per week. Picktree is a family run business, ,I visited dad every day of his time here ( apart from holidays) and i must say i felt like it is one big family throughout the home. Whilst always remaining professional , the staff go over and beyond to ensure residents are receiving exceptional care ( even sleeping over in bad weather to make sure they were there for next shift). You hear so many horror stories about such businesses so it is imperative that the right choice is made - and I have no hestitation in saying this is definately the BEST in the area. THANK YOU picktree for giving my dad the love and care he so greatly needed. I am forever in your debt ....
