Wentworth House

Mum spent the last 16 weeks of her life in Wentworth House, originally going in for respite after radiotherapy , she had cancer and was taken from us. Without the brilliant care and support from every single member of staff I don't think we would have got through this very difficult time. They treated mum with compassion and dignity right up to the end. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel towards the staff . Their support and care of mum got us through this ,they were a shoulder to cry on , a hug when we needed one and became part of are family . In the last week when we with mum constantly they kept us supplied with cups of tea and snacks , and we knew that when we left at night time mum was watched over . We knew she was safe and secure. She spent most of her time in bed ,only to get up in the first few weeks to go to the bathroom , she never got any pressure sores, and she was always clean and dry. Mum didn't want to go to the hospital or hospice and therefore was able to spend her last days in comfort and pain free in a place that she was happy. We are as a family eternally grateful to you all and hope that when are time comes we can find a place like this one for ourselves .
