The Manager was very friendly and approachable, seemed genuinely interested in all the background information I gave to them, and seemed sincere in their care for my Mum. The staff I saw were all very friendly and chatty and my Mum said they were no different when I left, she felt 'cared for'. The room she stayed in was very clean and comfy and Mums clothes washed daily (though they didn't seem to be ironed very well). The food was good and if Mum left any it was because she was given too much. The main lounge and dining room were very spacious and seemed clean and airy, though the TV (in lounge) seemed to dominate the room. All the family were welcome to visit at any time, no time seemed to be inconvenient. My Mum was happy to stay there and would happily stay again, and I was equally happy for her to be there. |

Lack of staff means that residents are often left in a large room in front of a tv with no one overseeing. there is no activities for residents at the home and the staff are often to be found outside smoking. On questioning the management, all you get are excuses. The staff numbers are very low and the morale of the staff is low as well. The building is in a poor state and the grounds are dirty and unkempt. Overflowing ashtrays around the outside area, lots of cardboard boxes lying around and a garden that is overgrowing are the first thing you notice. I don't understand why EYDC have a contract with this care home. |
