found this care home to be excellent in every way The staff very attentive towards the residents and nothing is to much trouble. The management are very polite and listen to any comments and requests. The home is very clean in all areas. Overall very happy with my mums progress whilst she was staying there. Would recommend to anybody to stay in this care home.

Our friend Kathleen spent the last year of her life in Eden Lodge, where, though the building is not palatial, she received outstanding care. She suffered from mental health problems which meant her behaviour could at times be demanding and even challenging. The tolerance shown to her was amazing, for example by the cooks making her food or drinks at random times of the day or night. Staff always seemed able to empathise and cope with the torment she received from the various fantasy people who surrounded her, and make her feel loved, even at considerable cost to themselves. They also campaigned tirelessly, though sadly not always successfully, to get other services to provide practical resources. Staff worked hard to provide a happy atmosphere, and the sound of an enthusiastic sing-song could often be heard emanating from the main sitting room. There is a lovely garden, with gazebos to ensure safety from too much sun. We live 150 miles away and could not visit as often as we would wish, but carers were always willing to spend time discussing Kathleen’s situation on the phone, and when we did visit there was always support and cups of tea. Generally staff show a remarkable ability to cope with whatever situations they are presented with, and to do so cheerfully and, yes, with love.
