Mum was moved to Magnolia following the closing of her last home, and from day one there was a significant level of improvement in her physical well-being. Staff have been very supportive to us as a family as none of us live on the island, so communication has been vital for us. All staff we have been in contact with have shown care, skill, compassion and always treated mum as an individual, with a good knowledge of her as a person as well as a service user. Excellent activity coordinator. |

My 94 year old mother stayed at Magnolia House on a temporary placement after 10 weeks in hospital. During her time she was very well cared for and the staff managed to mobilise her, as when she arrived she had not walked for 10 weeks. Meals are good and varied and residents are encouraged to drink throughout the day. All the residents I saw appeared to be happy and well cared for. As next of kin I was kept informed of any problems concerning my mothers health and well being. I always felt welcome when visiting my mother. |

My mum came to Magnolia following the closure of her old home and within weeks there was a significant improvement in her physical well being. Staff are all approachable and have a good knowledge of Mum as a person as well as a resident - the activity coordinator was a particular favourite of hers and is an excellent addition to the staff team.
As we all live on the mainland, communication with the home was always excellent. It is a busy home so may not suit someone who prefers a quieter environment but this does not distract from the level of support and care given to individuals. Staff appeared up to date with all mandatory training. The environment is always clean and improvements are being made continually that will enhance the good standard of care already in place. Mums deteriorating health has unfortunately meant a change in accommodation and I only hope we are as satisfied with the care at the new home as we have been at Magnolia. Thank you. |
