My Mother had been a patient at Jasmin House for several months. We were provided with an excellent service. Excellent food. Nursing staff and carers second to none. My family and I was extremely satisfied with all aspects of care our mother received. Friendly caring staff. Thank you. |

My mother was admitted to this home January 2014, following a severe stroke that necessitated her requiring going into a nursing home.
She was not a private fee paying resident and hence was council funded. The difference between being a council funded resident and a fee paying resident was stark. If you were fee paying you were in a big private room, all very nice. I know this as my mother was in a private room prior being put into a cupboard, for want of a better word.
The cupboard was basically half a room, narrow and long with half a window. There was the air of once in there you were forgotten.
During this time I was in the middle of moving North, my brother then pushed for , at least, having the door to the room open .
Staff wise, I didn`t really get to know the staff particularly well, because of moving. I had had talks with the manager etc before, I would say they seemed to capable.
Care staff wise, I felt it could be better, there were a couple of instances I had to get the staff to engage with my mum . Not so thrilled with them.
My mother passed away in May 2014 as a result of sepsis. |

My parents moved into the Dementia wing of Jasmine House at short notice due to dad's loss of mobility. Mum has Alzheimers, dad had vascular dementia. Without exception the care has been excellent and mum says that they are like family to her now. Dad passed away at home in Jasmine with his wife next to him and with the carers providing excellent end of life care - making his passing easier on both of them. Both my parents have always been treated with respect and with great friendliness and a good bit of enjoyable banter. The staff have supported mum superbly through her bereavement. She has plenty of choices in her daily life, but all the support she needs is always available. Visitors are made welcome and the atmosphere is often like that of a large family. It is always a pleasure to pop in and spend time with mum either on our own or with the friends she has made among the other residents. Staff are always approachable if I have any worries or need any information about how mum is doing day to day. |
