Richard Cox House is situated in Royston, within walking distance to the town centre, with all its shops and amenities. The home provides accommodation for 28 older people, with a range of health needs. One of the living areas is dedicated to providing care for people living with dementia. The home is accredited by Hertfordshire County Council to provide specialist dementia care, and has to undergo a rigorous annual evaluation process in order to achieve that status.
Other services include a respite beds for those needing short breaks and an on-site Day service – Q Club - which caters for local residents. This vital service provides the stimulation, friendship and support needed to enable people to stay in their own home for longer. The home also provides 6 intermediate care beds which help local people to regain their independence following a hospital stay, or get the support that they need to stay well at home.
& All rooms are furnished and equipped with a telephone, TV point and call bell. The home also has modern aids to make life easier for our residents, e.g. bath hoists and wheelchair accessibility.
Our kitchen provides hot, nutritious meals daily and can cater for special dietary needs. There is always a choice of dishes, and residents are involved in drawing up the menu.
A wide range of activities are available at the home, including coffee mornings, games sessions, outings and visits from local entertainers amongst many others.
