This place is nothing short of fantastic, they are looking after my 92 year old Mum extremely well. All the staff are really good and caring and nothing is too much trouble for them. The place is clean, warm and comfortable and the food is very varied and good. The residents are safe and well looked after. I do not know what the CQC look at but their report bares no resemblance to the service offered by Dovecote Lodge. Original Comment Report...

My Mum (95) is in at the moment waiting for a care package. I’ve been to see her three times, and am so pleased she is there. The staff are friendly and very helpful, and even with the stress of dealing with awkward people like my Mum, seem to be always cheerful, with funny comments and quips. Some of the other occupants are to there for similar reasons to my Mum, ie short term due to falls, so if she makes an effort there will be sensible people to chat to during the day. The last respite home she was in had mainly dementia residents, and it was difficult for her as she’s still mostly 'with it'.
Her bedroom is a decent size, and there’s a pleasant window to look out of. She has a wardrobe, chest of drawers, chair, and a small sink. She says the bed is 'nice and comfortable '. The toilet is a few doors away, but as she uses a commode at night this isn’t a problem. She also likes the food, which is unusual for her.
The place itself felt cosy; large comfy sofas, coffee tables with newspapers and magazines , and a very pleasant dining room which is light and airy. There are plenty of those high-type chairs and a large tv, though I noticed that residents were chatting rather than watching it, which I think is good.
As I said, I’m pleased she’s there. I know she’s being looked after and I’ve got peace of mind. Thank you to everyone at Dovecote Lodge! Original Comment Report...

Excellent care being given to my mum who has been there now for nearly 3 weeks. She has broken ankle andvis unable to move around on her own at moment until pot is removed. Diet needs been met as gluten free, staff attend promptly when called by wrist buzzer. Pleasant, caring and friendly staff in a lovely clean envorinment.
