Apr 12 2017 My mum has been at Shields Court for 8 months. On the first visit we found it to have a homely feel rather than feel like a clinical care home with residents just sitting round in a circle. Mums room was decorated and new furniture provided and nice little homely touches added. We were worried how mum would settle in as in her previous temporary care placement from hospital she was very unsettled after being used to looking after herself for so many years, However, we didn't need to worry as Mum settled in well and the staff made her feel welcome. We have had a very good experience with the home and mum has enjoyed going on the trips that have been arranged and the little visits to the local coffee shop for tea and cake. The careers look after Mum very well and if she is feeling down make time to sit and chat with her. As a family we can't thank the staff enough and are so glad we found Shields Court for Mum.

The residents are very well cared for and whatever the problem is the staff are willing to help. My mother has been at the home approximately 4 years and we really have seen the home come on, especially in the last 8-9 months. The new management have improved the home with decoration and furniture. Staff are always on hand and i know that if there were any issues i could approach them and they would sort it out. I would recommend Shiels Court to my friends and family.

Jul 21 2016 My mum has been at sheils court for a year now she has dementia and can be aggressive at times .during that time the standards have gone up from good to very good,due to new management and lovely carers .the whole house has been redecorated ,there is an activity room where the residents are encouraged to take part in activities . There is a hairdresser ,chiropodist and doctor who come in regularly .members of local church come in for prayers and a sing along ,just recently there was a trip to thrigby wildlife park which a lot of the residents enjoyed . I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at sheils for their very patient and careing attitude to my mum. .
