The bedrooms are good and the staff friendly however the food is uninspired. Of greater concern is that whilst the home is divided into different, self-contained, units and only the ground floor described by the manager when my relative moved there as being for residents suffering from advanced dementia, it now seems that all units have a majority of residents with moderate or advanced dementia, this is impacting on the quality of life of those who do not have it. I am sure that there are pressures on the home and Social Services with more dementia sufferers in the town needing care, so admission, but the quality of life of those without it needs remembering, at least when locating residents within the home. As it is sufferers of dementia wander into other people's rooms uninvited, sitting on their beds and sometimes peeing on their things. My relative has nobody but staff, who are good, to talk with. |
