Adelaide House Residential Care Home

My Mum was a resident at Adelaide house for a total of 18 months. At no point during this time did I ever question either the skills or abilities of the staff responsible for her care and wellbeing. What I am eternally grateful for , is not only the exceptional care and compassion that was shown to Mum , but the genuine love and affection bestowed upon her every single day, by the staff and management.

My mother spent a year and a half at Adelaide House, 6 months from February-July 2016 and then 13 months from February 2018. The second time she wanted to go back after we, her family, could no longer meet her care needs after doing so for the intervening 18 months. Her needs became progressively as severe as possible to sustain in a care home to the end of life. I never had a qualm about the quality of care and in the last days, on two occasions, I saw different carers kiss my mother on the forehead or cheek as she lay bed-ridden. That was totally natural and typically above and beyond the call of duty. Her needs could not have been attended to better. The zealous Care Quality Commission rang me some months ago and said that they would report any recommendations after inspection; none have been forthcoming. My daughter came over from Amsterdam with her five month old baby and her accommodation booking was cancelled at short notice. Adelaide's management became aware and insisted on providing a room. I cannot praise the owner-management and staff enough. Martin

I had looked around a few homes in Leamington for my mother who has mobility issues and slight dementia.She had been in and out of hospital over the previous two years before going into Adelaide hse.My first impression when the door was opened by a smiley member of the care team was at last a place my mum could call home,it has a very homely and caring atmosphere and i was able to pick my mums room,a beautiful dual aspect downstair room with en suite facilities it was just where in years to come i could see myself quite happily staying in,it has views over the beautiful gardens and in the good weather she happily sits outside along with the other residents.The care team are superb always friendly caring and very professional,nothing is too much trouble.Victoria park is only 100yds down the road,a lovely riverside walk where as a baby my mother used to push me in my pram,i now take great satisfaction pushing her in her wheelchair,Jephsen gardens is only another 15min walk away.The location of the home is fantastic and should not be overlooked.Another positive is the pub around the corner,very welcoming and wheelchair friendly.I live in France and so its very important for me to have peace of mind knowing mum is in safe hands,she is always saying how good the food is and how i couldn,t have found her anywhere better to stay,along with my cousin we were allowed to decorate her room with all her familiar pictures etc and looks just like her old lounge.The owners are just the best,the right people in the right profession for the right reasons,i can not speak highly enough of them.Mum has been their now for over a year and her health and happiness has improved and has not been admitted to hospital once..says it all really other than a big thankyou to all at Adelaide house for making mums last chapter such a happy and fulfilled one.Paul
