Canford Manor Nursing Home

Canford Manor staff were a blessing for my mum Pat, who passed away in October 2016. A beautiful location, easy walking distance to the seafront. Wonderful staff, a knowledgeable and caring manager and a well thought out room layout all contributed to a peaceful, and restful stay. Staff were on hand when needed. All staff had an excellent understanding of the role of the carer and were also helpful to my Dad who struggled to adjust to not having her at home. Our heartfelt thanks go to them on this first anniversary for making Mum as comfortable as possible and providing an atmosphere of quiet, caring, dignity while being light, warm and friendly. Can't recommend them enough.

I have been extremely impressed by every aspect of Canford Manor since my mother moved there suffering from life ending medical problems. The decoration and facilities are of a very high standard providing a very pleasant and clean environment in which to live. All staff including managers, nurses, carers and ancillary staff always show great professionalism whilst also providing patients with respect, warmth and empathy. Visiting family members are always welcome and information is readily available on request. I thoroughly recommend a visit.

My husband became a resident of Canford Manor in August 2015. I was impressed before I had even seen it as the manager rang me quite late in the evening after assessing him in hospital to assure me that she would accept him. When I visited the following day I was even more pleased with my choice, it is like a home from home with lovely furnishings and everything is done for the benefit of the residents. The staff are wonderful and it is not just a job to them. They are good with every resident and I am sure at times this must be difficult but they are always happy and obviously attached to the people they look after. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is good and it seems if a resident has a particular wish for something it is readily available. There is a varied program of events which residents can join in. The staff discuss everything with relatives to make sure they are aware what is going on and will make time for this whenever suits you. Not only have I been impressed with the care given and the whole atmosphere of the place but every visitor that my husband has had has said exactly the same. I would highly recommend Canford Manor to anybody who will listen.
