I have been a patient at Ashchurch Surgery since November 1980 and have always been treated with warmth and respect. Although I have moved house and now live about 40 minutes walk away, I did not want to change to a surgery closer to where I now live because I like and trust the surgery and the staff. |

Absolutely impossible to book appointments. The reception staff are unbelievably unhelpful and unknowledgable. If you do eventually get an appointment, the wait is usually 1 hour for your appointment without apology and then you will 9 times out of 10 just be referred to the hospital where they will allay your fears and question why the GP sent you. Particularly lacking in pre and post natal experience. Avoid this surgery at all costs - there are plenty of other better surgeries nearby! |

I have been attending the Ashchurch surgery since 1975 (43 years). I have always been treated by the team of doctors, nurses and receptionists with help. Appointments can be a problem but not for emergencies. I am appalled at the abuse the receptionists sometimes get, and admire how they cope with the restraints they have as regards doctors' time and appointments.
For the last 10 years by a doctor has been my main provider - he always gives me full attention, gives sound advice, points me in the right direction for the next stage of treatment and the referrals have always been useful and timely. As far as I can tell, he gives all his patients the same best advice he can and thus often overruns his 10 minutes slots (by a few mins.) which the full advice needs. These extra minutes are important but his schedule gets behind. However I prefer for him to run behind, but we all get full advice, and which is understood by the patient. I appreciate his care. |
