I called up for an emergency home call & visit & when the dr called back My friend was at mine who was the one who told me to call for an emergency home visit as I don’t like to do that & never have but I was so ill ..... I put the phone on loud speaker & the dr asked what the problem was and as I tried to explain he Immediately spoke over me, then when I tried again to explain what the problem was that I’m struggling to breath & cant stand as feeling faint & had been sick 4 times & need an emergency home visit which I have NEVER asked for before, he started raising his voice saying STOP SPEAKING & LISTEN TO ME ....... he then told me I had to come to surgery his refusing to come out to see me?? Today or tomorrow?? & told me he now putting the phone down?? Me & my friend was in complete shock...... I have NEVER been spoke to like this by any Professional doctor who is caring for sick people ie me!! In this way I was so upset & ill I had to get my friend to take me to the surgery where I was sick outside & just made it in without fainting........ I asked the reception to speak with the practice manager as the dr's call was very Unprofessional in every way ..... they said she was on holiday & there no one who could talk to us?? My friend then explain what had happened as I could hardly speak, I went up to see the dr who was still rude when I first went up then I said about leaving a review & he backtracked & said he only had 1 bad day a year & today was his bad day ?? Which does not excuse his behaviour ....... this is the worst surgery I would not recommend it to anyone !!! This doctor is working with sick people and care & compassion should always come first! |

I have been a patient of this practice since it was 1st opened.. There have been numerous improvements over the years and the surgery is kept to a very high standard and is always clean and fresh. The receptionists are lovely and so kind. The Doctors are all very experienced and professional. The nursing team are all a delight and so caring with great understanding and humour..I listen to friends and family talking about the experiences they have with various practices and I certainly wouldn't swop..this is definitely the best practice and most accessible.. I love reordering prescriptions online and been able to book appointments... This is a truly excellent practice and I do not hesitate to highly recommend it. Reply from The Western Road Surgery Mon, 19 Aug 2019 12:11:56 +0100 Thank you very much for taking the time to write such lovely comments about the Practice. We work very hard to provide as high a standard of accessibility and care as is possible within the resources we have and it is truly rewarding when someone appreciates what we do. Over the last couple of weeks, demand has been very high and we know that we have not always been able to meet everyone's expectation but we are working hard to keep on top of things and hope to continue to offer a high standard of service. I will ensure your comments are passed on to all concerned and, once again, thank you for taking the time to compliment us. With thanks. Julie Jackson, Practice Manager |

On the occasions I have needed to use this surgery, I have been able to phone for an appointment and get through relatively quickly. The phone manner has always been polite and professional. I have been called in by the doctor within an acceptable short wait from my appointment time. I have also been happy with the outcome of the appointment, no matter which doctor I have been seen by. After the horror stories that that you hear about GP surgeries, I felt compelled to congratulate this surgery, as it is clearly well run. Well done to the staff, GPS and management. Keep up the good work. |
