absolutely appalling receptionists at this practice. Rude, unhelpful and hung up the phone on both my husband and I after we were requested to ring back if condition did not improve after a week. | ||||||

This is my second review which I feel the need to write. I was called by the practice to review one of the conditions I am suffering from. Prior to this appointment I had been advised by more than one specialist that I need to undergo a number of tests but after months no appointments have arisen. The doctor I saw this morning (4.6.19) was absolutely brilliant in every way. I have been going to this surgery for many years, the doctors are really good and caring.
Unfortunately, I find it impossible to get an appointment. It's always phone after 8 am or phone after 2pm. However when you phone you can't get through. So on many occasions I just give up and suffer. It's a shame the system just does not work.
I was their recently when a receptionist was verbally abused by a lady who was asked to pay £30 for a signed letter from the Doctor. In which the doctor did not advise her in advance and insisted on cash. I was really shocked at the Patience's behavior to those poor receptionists doing their job.
I understand that £30 is a lot of money for us and I believe it is very wrong to charge that amount of money... I believe it should be a fair if they have to charge a standard £10 max
as their are people who are not working and people who have to go on and pay for medication as well.
The following week I was in the same situation and had to pay £30 and was not advised of the charge in advance but paid in silence.
However, I do believe it is very steep for a signed letter but people should not take it out on the receptionists, they are only doing their jobs.
Nevertheless, the receptionists and doctors are excellent ! | ||||||
