Chadwell Medical Centre

I waited well over an hour to get through to ask about an appointment for a scan that i have been waiting for since September,to be told to call Basildon Hospital and they would sort it out for me. So I phoned Basildon ultrasound department and they told me it had been outsourced to the Beehive centre. I then contacted them to be told ,they dont have a referral, so i must phone my GP and get them to refer me again. Another hour phone call. I dont thinl so.

It seems it is no longer straightforward to phone and make an appointment. I recently visited my local surgery to be quizzed by the receptionist as to why I needed to see a doctor. I informed the receptionist politely that this was private between me and my GP. I was informed I had to divulge reason before an appointment could be arranged. I questioned this as other people were present and it could have been a delicate matter. I was told I could go somewhere private or whisper to receptionist. I feel this is an invasion of my rights and felt very uncomfortable having to disclose why I needed to see a Gp to a receptionist. My husband had a similar experience a few weeks prior but would not discuss his reason for visiting. I was informed it’s due to Sepsis, I maintained my composure but think this policy needs urgent reviewing as does phone appointments with GP. What’s happened to good old face to face contact. I now on third contact get to see a GP!!
