To get an appointment to see a G. P. you have to wait a week at least sometimes two or even three. So, most patients book themselves into the emergency clinic which runs every day but there is now a problem with this because it is getting oversubscribed.
Sit and wait in this clinic can be an hour and a half wait. With this service there is going to be a danger that patients will start going to A&E in the week because they can't get seen when they need a G.P. on the day they are needing an appointment and they will be taking up valuable spaces in this department that should be for emergencies only.
There is a large proportion of elderly patients under this surgery whom are in these emergency clinics. |

Visited recently ( 8th July 19 ) overheard reception staff joke between themselves about suicide, which is wholly inappropriate ( wasn't talking about a patient ). My doctor wasn't very helpful that day and didn't show much interest, which left me feeling worse. Practice nurses I've seen always provide a more concerned diagnosis. |
