I recently visited the surgery with a relative and was very pleased with the service provided by the reception staff. However I believe that the clinician that we saw on the day had no customer service skills. In addition to the above, I telephoned the following day of my visit to cancel and re-book an appointment and again the receptionist was extremely helpful, they made every effort to assist me. On the same day I spoke with the practice manager who was very patient in listening to what I had to say and showed great empathy, one of the key skills in providing a first class service to a diverse community. Overall satisfied with the service.

I had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience very recently at this surgery. I am a new patient and this was my first GP appointment after completing a new patient appointment with the practice nurse (who was friendly, professional and efficient). My GP appointment was a very different experience. It was 30 minutes delayed, there was no acknowledgement or apology from the doctor when I entered the room. I was refused to have my two issues listened too and told I could only discuss one issue per appointment. I know this is untrue as a friend recently saw the same doctor and was able to discuss two separate issues in one appointment. The surgery should provide consistent care and service to all patients, and if for some reason they can't then this should be explained with some understanding by the doctor. I had waited 2 weeks for this appointment, and on top of the 30 minute delay there should have been empathy from the doctor to listen to my issues and then decide if they had enough time for them rather than bluntly refuse my request without further explanation. What was then frustrating was after taking 5 minutes to deal with my first issue and book a referral, the remainder of the 10 minute appointment was taken up by the doctor asking me questions about my family history that I had already covered in detail with the nurse. These were unrelated to my issue and they did not provide any context for asking seemingly random questions that were already explained and written up on my record (which I could see). My experience at this surgery has left me frustrated, upset and annoyed and I do not want to be seen by this doctor again, their manner was abrupt, cold and unfriendly.

The doctor is a little bit unprofessional?? Wow. She looks at your condition and smirks, laughs and looks in shock. Bear in mind that a patient is coming in to a service to get clarification and understanding on a condition they have and having the doctor laugh and smirk and look in horror, wouldn’t exactly make the patient feel calm about the situation at hand. I left that room horrified, scared and very very upset. I’ve been very pourly before I saw the doctor and she told me I can only explain one condition. That’s fair enough I’ve worked in a GP before. But not that I wait 50 mins!!!! For an appointment to not even have my full 10 mins!!!! I had health issues which were un-explained and when she prescribed medication she couldn’t even explain what it’s for, how long my condition will last, how long I need to do the treatment and I even had to ask her to explain further when she had a guess or two on what she thinks the condition is. My face at the end of the doctor’s consultation was horrified. She even said at the end while laughing of course ‘haha don’t worry I won’t let you leave if I thought it was serious’ I mean what kind of clarification is that, is that meant to make me feel better? This surgery is horrible and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone!!! Please avoid registering to this GP.
