Called the surgery on Tuesday 27th August at 0845 requesting an appointment. I was told that the earliest available appointment was on the 9th September (13 days away) or I could telephone in the morning at 0800 to get a same day appointment - bearing in mind this was at 0845 why was I unable to get a same day appointment for that day? Called again on Wednesday 28th August at exactly 0800 and the line was busy. After several redials I eventually got through only to be cut-off by the receptionist. Eventually I did get through at around 0810 only to be told that I couldn't have an appointment and that a doctor would call be back "sometime after 0900 to triage my condition". "If the doctor then deems my condition serious enough to warrant an appointment they would make one then." This means that as a working parent I have to sit around all day, working from home in the hope that I can get an appointment. The nature of my condition is such that I don't think the doctor is going to be able to diagnose an exact problem without seeing me!! I have been waiting for my condition to get better on its own for several weeks, it hasn't and now I need to see a doctor BUT can't!!!!! What does it take to get an appointment? |

Getting an appointment at this Surgery is insane. You can't get an appointment when you want one, if they do it's at Newton court .The gp's are up to date if you've had a problem before. |

The is the worst practice I have ever had to deal with. Receptionists are unhelpful - and couldn't cope with a repeat prescription going to a different pharmacy than usual. One of the doctors (now retired) was excellent, but of the two others I've seen, one hadn't even read my notes before I walked into the room, and the other went on to blame me for having fibroids, leaving me in tears. I am from a family of doctors (two GPs, oncologist, paediatrician, orthopaedic surgeon), one of whom teaches medical communication skills to student doctors. They all agree that the experiences I've had at this practice are so far from good practice that it is unbelievable. I feel sorry for patients who don't have medical family to fall back on. Absolutely dreadful. If you have the option of registering somewhere else, I would recommend that you do. No amount of under-funding excuses the sub-standard care offered here. |
