When suffering from an extreme urticaria rash in France, I was given very poor care at the local Hospital. I phoned Send surgery, on my mobile, from the emergency room and was called back by a Send doctor in 15 minutes. She gave sensible and helpful advice. I was also able to make an appointment for the day after my return from holiday. When I told the nurses in the French hospital , that I was leaving, they then deigned to see me and prescribe suitable drugs. I was very impressed by the service I obtained from The Villages Medical Centre. I was also impressed by the new doctor who saw me on my return. |

We cannot fault this surgery. We both have ongoing illnesses & all the staff here are so kind & helpful. From the receptionists to nurses & doctors we couldn’t fault them. They all treat us with total respect & help in any way they can. We rarely wait long when going for an appointment if at all. We would totally recommend this practice Reply from Villages Medical Ctr Wed, 10 Jul 2019 17:37:43 +0100 Thank you so much for taking the time to write a comment on NHS.uk We are very grateful for your positive feedback. The practice always provides excellent service but my most recent contact was exceptional. On 4 June I remembered my repeat prescription said my annual review was due on 13 June and I knew I needed to have had a blood test beforehand so results could be discussed. So I rang the practice that afternoon and my call was answered immediately. I told the receptionist that I had a review scheduled on 13 June and that I needed to book a blood test in advance. Also that I needed to have my ears syringed as they were blocked. She consulted her records and very quickly offered me a blood test appointment at 09.30 on 6 June and an appointment at 11.00 on 7 June to have my ears syringed. I was delighted to be offered both appointments within 3 days. Even better was that she then said that she could offer me a telephone appointment on 13 June with my GP for my annual review. I said that I would prefer a surgery appointment if possible as I had a medical condition I needed to discuss. She checked her records and very kindly offered me a surgery appointment with my GP at 10.20 on 13 June. So although I had rung expecting that I might have left it too late to book a blood test, have the results sent to my GP and a review appointment in time for my scheduled review date, it all worked like clockwork and I had the review on the due date after a blood test and also my ears syringed in between. So one short 'phone-call resulted in me being given 3 appointments in just 9 says. Excellent! From time to time I read in the media of patients having to wait weeks, sometimes months, for just 1 appointment so this experience reinforces how lucky the patients of Send Villages Medical Centre are with the excellent service provided. As a bonus when I went into the waiting room after checking in for my appointment on 7 June my name was already on the information screen asking me to go to room 7 and my appointment started early. On 13 June the same happened with my GP appointment, which both started and finished before the scheduled start time. The service is always excellent but this was exceptional. All staff were very polite, professional, knowledgeable and helpful as always. Names withheld, known to Practice Manager David Sprigings |
