I’ve seen around 7 of the doctors here, and they are all the same. If you are young and are experiencing ongoing health issues, they will send you away and say ‘it’s most likely stress’ aka the easy option for them. They think a measly routine blood test is enough to rule out anything. It is absolutely unacceptable. Not only does this prevent you from getting the correct diagnosis and treatment you need, it makes you think you’re going crazy! After resorting to going private even though I could not afford it, I was faced with people who do take my seriously, and after having appropriate tests, finally got a diagnosis of what was causing my issues. It is something quite serious, and would have been far more treatable had the GP doctors listened to me originally. Just because you are in your twenties, it does not take away the prospect that health conditions that are hard to diagnose, exist outside of being something that is just ‘stress’ or ‘in your head’. Sort it out!! |

I am a healthcare professional
I am impressed by this practice and have been with every interaction I have had
The non-clinical staff are sensible and polite
The medical staff I have interacted with are sensible
In my professional role I also review patients from this practice and my view from that point of view is that they are very good, well organised and manage the patients long term health conditions very well |

A truly awful surgery! This is the only surgery I have been a member of who force you to spend 5 minutes telling them your problems in detail, to be told they will pass it on to be "triaged". You then get a phone call, at some random point, that an appointment is to be made. This is usually two to three weeks ahead! The amount of time wasted going through these archaic procedures (which seem unique to this surgery) clearly creates huge delay, and stresses the often rude receptionists. You will frequently encounter a very long winded message, often telling you hang up unless your medical issue is "critical" (if it was so, surely one would bypass their surgery for the hospital?!) I asked for a meeting with the practice manager, who after making me wait an hour (the surgery opened at 8.30, my appointment was 8.30...go figure!), admitted they were sinking. Yet when I advised they were still taking patients onto their sinking ship I received a shrug in response. Due to my location I am stuck with this surgery but have no faith in my health provision. My partner, urgently seeking mental health services has been given the option of perpetual anti depressants or nothing. The GP has postponed her appointments, then failed to provide new dates, nor follow up with her pro actively. We have asked for referrals to get the right help, but nothing whatsoever has occurred, And when we did follow the complaint process NHS England said we were stuck at the surgery and that they had to inform them what we said, in order to process the complaint. We were contacted by a GP at the surgery who insinuated it's easy to mark a patient's card (violent patients was the phrase raised, even though the GP acknowledged we had never been this way) and suggested the consequences of doing so. Feeling over a barrel, we reluctantly conceded to the stick obviously being wielded. We have both suffered greatly as a result of the failures of the management of this GP. For the sake of your health find a surgery which meets the standards we expect in the 21st century. |
