I have only ever had the best possible experience at Highfield Surgery. Appointments are sometimes hard to get, but that is understandable as the surgery covers a large area, but you can be sure that the brilliant receptionists will always fit you in if it is an emergency. They will also get the Doctors to ring you if needs be. I have recently moved house but would only move within Highfields catchment area as their service and all their staff are second to none. Keep up the great work! |

I joined the surgery a few months ago and have always had a good experience with Asthma reviews, prescriptions and visits to see the doctors. |

I have been part of Highfields surgery over 30 years as a child. I am not a regular visitor but when the need arises, I constantly have issues. No doubt the staff do their best in the disorganised mess that is the surgery. Just to mention a few issue I have had of late...I tried to book an appointment and there is no availability and when you eventually get through its full. I then ask if I can have a prebooked appointment as I am happy to wait, again they don't offer this. I am told to call back the next day and the cycle continues on. I then tried online, the system would not give me an appointment. I returned to the surgery and asked for a solution. They tried to reset it and I tried to book while I was there, as I was hoping they could help me. The online system didn't allow me to book an appointment. The staff member stated this does happen to a few people. I asked for a helpline and was told there wasn't one. I still have no resolution to this, months later. I have given up and now at a point that I need to look for a new surgery. I have also tried booking an appointment with the nurse for holiday jabs. I called a month and a half in advance and they stated the earliest appointment is a month and a half away. Bearing in mind I fly shortly I was genuinely concerned that I may be feeling the effects of the jabs as I fly but reluctantly I accepted the appointment. I was then called up and the appointment has now been moved another day later so I am now having my jabs 3 days before I fly although I have been trying to get an appointment well in advance. You can appreciated how apprehensive and worried this makes me. In addition I asked if maybe the doctor could make an exception and do the jabs rather than wait for the nurse and again this was not an option. I am genuinely concerned that I may be in ill health as I travel abroad. These are just my experiences and any occasion I have walked into the surgery there is usually a litter of people with the same issues. There are a lot of problems and no solutions. Why cant I have a prebooked appointment in advance? On spec appointments do not work for those of us working. I do not write this all just to complain but hope some solutions are put in place rather than me having to leave just to get an appointment. |
