This doctors surgery used to be good but since moving to the Chocolate Quarter the service offered has deteriorated. You cannot get to see a doctor these days. I have also been trying to get a flu jab since September (3 month’s now), after being notified by NHS that I am a vulnerable person but to date this surgery has been unable to provide this service. The reception staff are sullen and unhelpful when you ring up. |

I have been with St Augustines Surgery for nearly 50 years. The staff are always very polite and helpful. The doctors always have time to listen to you and make you feel at ease .I had a nasty fall in my Garden and was able to get an appointment very quickly. x-ray arranged, and with in a few days the doctor had my results and rang me at home I have been happy with the care myself and my family have had over the years at the surgery. |

I have been going to this surgery for a number of years and it was always fairly easy to get an appointment within a few days and sometimes on the same day. However this is no longer true as I tried to get an appointment and was told there was a minimum three week wait and not even to see my usual doctor. When I asked why I was informed it was due to the mass of new houses and apartments on the old Fry's factory site and this had impacted all local surgeries adding to their client list. After speaking with a local councillor and finding out that there is a cost per person given to surgeries by the Government, why are more Drs not employed, more surgeries opened and some prior planning put into this way before creating hundreds of new homes containing thousands of new patients. |
