I have been a patient at this practice for over 15 years. During this time I can say hand on heart that there has never been a mistake or incorrect diagnosis. As a medical person myself I feel well able to discuss my complex heath issues, and I have never come away thinking anything but praise for the Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacist & reception staff.
I make a habit of talking to the staff when they are not deeply in work - which often ends with much laughter with many of the patients who are waiting for their appointment. If you don't talk to the staff they are not going to get to know you -or you them. They are people who care and if you telephone in with an emergency request you will be seen that day.
Electronic booking is available, as is prescription repeats - ask the practice manager or receptionist for details of how to receive your medical Id & password to log in at home.
The only area that lets the total Surgery down is the lack of patients joining the PPG (Patient Participation Group) - We need MORE people to join the group (an NHS Requirement) as we act as a point of information between patients & Doctors. We can help if you have an issue that needs investigating. We provide data of missed appointments and hopefully we will be able to raise money for new equipment such as Blood Pressure Monitors for patients to take home.(Other Surgeries have raised a great deal of money to purchase new BP monitors, Equipment, Resuscitation equipment - things that make the life of both patients & Doctors easier. SO PLEASE, Tell the Practice Manager you want to Join the PPG! WE NEED YOU! |

I saw a doctor on Friday 1st December before setting off on a trip to Australia on 3rd December, and asked if they could help me with my bad cough. They listened to my chest back and front and said nothing. No consideration was given to the fact that I have been a cancer patient or that I had a very long flight ahead of me.
I coughed all the way on the plane, all 20 hours of the journey and now, 3 days into my stay I am still coughing and today have been feeling poorly. I am going to have to visit a doctor here, not a very pleasant experience, and hope that they can give me some help.
I get the distinct impression that treatment is withheld from us patients these days to save money which is a very poor way to treat anyone. |

I had a pelvic ultrasound scan on 6th March 2015 and at the time of the scan I was made aware that there was what looked like a Polyp on the lining of my womb. They advised that the test results would be sent to my GP who would contact me to discuss further. I phoned Regent Street Surgery on Monday 16th March to be advised that the scan results had been received in the Surgery on Friday 13th March. A note was put on the system for the Doctor to call me. I called again in the afternoon of Tuesday 14th March as I had still not heard from the Doctor. At the time of typing this review it is now the afternoon of Wednesday 18th March and I have still not been contacted by a Doctor. It wouldn't be too bad if the at the time of the scan I'd been advised that there wasn't anything of concern, but knowing that there is something, possibly a polyp or maybe something even worse, I feel that this GP surgery should consider the interests of their patients and not leave them waiting nearly a week (it may go on longer than that if no once calls me by Friday 20th) to find out the full resulst of the scan and what procedure is now required. |
