brilliant doctors surgery always able to speak to a doctor and see them if i need to, i have never had a problem getting an appointment and the reception staff are very helpful, it's the best practice that i have been registered with in herefordshire, they are a credit to the NHS and because hereford doctors have all become one and made a mess of it, i won't be changing anytime soon!

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide your feedback to us. We strive to provide our patients with the best possible service, and it is a pleasure to read how pleased you were with both the service and staff. I have circulated your comments to the whole team as it is nice to know that their hard work and efforts are appreciated. It is very encouraging when a patient takes the time to provide positive feedback and once again I would like to thank you for your kind comments.

As others have commented, this practice was excellent some time ago. Then came changes. We were able to make appointments to see a specific doctor, now it is extremely difficult to do so. We were able to make appointments to see a doctor online, now it appears impossible. We used to be able to call for an appointment, now we have to ring, leave a message for a doctor to call back to discuss our conditions/concerns, after which he/she will decide if we need to visit surgery. What a waste of time. The doctor who calls us will be a long-term staff member but here's the thing ... if this doctor decides we are poorly enough for an appointment, we often end up with a junior doctor or as described recently "almost a G.P." I have been misdiagnosed by 2 trainee doctors and ended up returning to the surgery to see an established member of staff or once ended up at Hereford hospital, wasting their time and mine. We object to discussing conditions/concerns with reception staff. We do not believe they are always able to make a speedy decision about the appropriate doctor, training or no training. I see the practice is still accepting new patients. One wonders why if they already find it tricky to keep an appointment system in place. It would be better all round if they made a U-turn. To sum up, constantly making changes to appointment systems is annoying for patients. We have suspicions about the motives for the junior doctor thing ... it is almost as if we, the patients, are being sieved through the system, only ending up with an established qualified G.P. if we are persistent enough to by-pass a trainee. Is this a money-saving scheme? Seems like it could be.

I am very sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the service you have received from the practice. The practice strives to provide our patients with the best possible service and we regret that you feel we have failed to do so. We always welcome feedback regarding our services and encourage our patients to do this in person to a member of the practice team at the time, so that any problems can be discussed and hopefully resolved promptly. Unfortunately it is challenging to discuss any individual cases online due to the strict confidentiality and information governance provisions in place, but if you would like to discuss your individual concerns please do not hesitate to contact the Practice Manager or Operations Manager.

When I first moved to Ross alton street surgery came highly recommended to me.That was 34 years ago, since that time dispite the growing pressure they are under they still remain very reliable. They will always take the time to listen to your concerns.
