I have been requesting to see a gp at Harley Street Medical Centre all week because 111 sent me to the hospital out of hours and they prescribed three lots of pills and said see your gp for a referral for an xray. I rang on Monday and Tuesday because i was only just registered with them. I was then told to call on Thursday morning. So I rang and I finally got through, but they couldn't give me an appointment that day because they were fully booked and they close at 1pm. I called at 8am on Friday morning and was 15th in the queue. It took me an hour to get through. Only to be told i have to see physiotherapist because the gp does not deal with joint problems (I have very painful and swollen right knee, nausea and fever). The hospital outpatient had told me to go to my gp for referral for an xray. They physiotherapist did not call me . I was ill over night so I rang 111 again on Saturday. They gave me steroids and said go to your gp for blood tests they have to see you because rhmatoid arthritis is autoimmune disease not a joint problem. I have had to take more time off work. |

I've been trying to book a blood test for weeks, the phone line is always 'user busy' or just disconnects and when i finally get through it's a 30 minute waiting time on hold. The receptionist told me if i wanted to be seen today then i have to go to a different walk in centre and if not, i have to call back tomorrow to be put on a list.
Not being able to pre book appointments is infuriating and the phone never been answered is ridiculous. Get better staff and a better system. |
