    While the surgery is very modern with the ability to access services online, the reality is that they restrict these services and would rather you use the phone. To book an appointment, in theory you can use the app... but you get a choice of 2 times, 15 minutes apart on the same day and they're 3 weeks away and not with your GP. Other surgeries let you book appointments on the day through an app, but NMC REQUIRE you to call. If you're unable to call when they open around 8am, you're fresh out of luck... so if you're working before the usual 9am you're not really welcome at this practice. I did try calling to ask if I could book an appointment the day before, either on the app or over the phone, the receptionist seemed to know nothing about the app and have no interest in it, and didn't offer any help about booking the day before through her......... When I moved to this practice, I requested my old one send my records through to NMC, who said they hadn't received a fax. A fax. Called my old surgery who said they'd sent them electronically, and fax was rarely, if ever, used to do that. Since they had sent the records, they had to delete them from their system. So, because of NMC's staff refusing to live in the present, my decades of medical records were lost....... The sad thing is that both the doctors and nurse I've seen have all been very good, but they're let down by the shocking administration and administration staff stuck in the 90s

    Thank you for your comments, could we get some further details in order to investigate your concerns. You can email us on northgate.medicalcentre@nhs.net for the attention of Dawn Riley, Practice Manager. We can then check regarding your medical records concern. We do offer a variety of different pre-bookable slots on-line via Patient Access, but patients do book these quickly. We have to keep some slots for ‘booking on the day only’. We do receive records electronically if you live in England. Unfortunately if you come to register with us from a Wales practice they do not have an electronic system to send records, so they have needed to use fax or post to communicate with English practices. Hence one of the reasons we still had a fax machine for those practices not electronically linked. Medical Records are not able to be deleted off clinical systems and will be made ‘inactive’ so your records would not be deleted. We also had to keep our fax machine because pharmacies use this to order urgent medication, but have just stopped using fax machines in this area this last month so their systems needed to be updated in order to email us as this is our preferred method of contact by other practices. We also use EPS for prescription which is another electronic way to transfer medication requests direct to the pharmacies. We have a very modern electronic system and receive hospital letters and results direct from hospitals electronically, no fax or paper involved. Patient can book appointments and order their repeat medication via Patient Access. We do pride ourselves on our use of modern technology, your comment about one of our staff members is most likely to have been our new staff member not offay with all the systems we use which are many. We will of course be getting her up to speed with her training programme, but this can take time as we have so many on-line systems to train her on. Any other concerns please get in touch.

    One particular doctor is a kind helpful and a very good doctor nothing is to much trouble

    The treatment and attention my husband received and is still receiving following a fall has been amazing and is much appreciated
