I have been at Great Lumley 4 years and now I am moving back to Barnard Castle and I will miss Lumley surgery. The attention and understanding and ease of their services are outstanding. I have Secondary Multiple Sclerosis . I’ve had ms for 25 years ,I appreciate their care and help and my doctor Sheard has been wonderful. | ||||||

We moved to Lumley in the seventies and enrolled at the Surgery, we moved from Lumley eight years later but stayed with the surgery - it’s the best!!! Even though people at the surgery have changed over the years everyone has been pleasant, friendly and helpful and the atmosphere maintained. | ||||||

I have been a patient at this surgery for about 15yrs and about 9yrs ago I was diagnosed with a long term medical condition. I have a prescription which repeats every month, so I am no stranger to the surgery.
I always find the Doctors, Nurses and staff go out of their way to be helpful and recently after a review of my medication, the doctor suggested that I should attend the surgery and have blood samples taken for various reasons. This was on Friday 23rd March.
At 7.30pm(on a Friday night!) I was telephoned by him to say that he was concerned about a dangerously low level of haemoglobin in my blood. He did everything in his power to check my hospital records and arrange for me to have an urgent blood transfusion.
He rang me several times over the course of that evening and again on the Saturday to enquire how I was.
If that's not above and beyond the call of duty, I don't know what is!
I might add that I have been seen on a number of occasions by a senior doctor in the practice. She too, has always been most helpful and extremely pleasant | ||||||
