Absolutely disappointed... waiting one and a half weeks for registration then another one week for appointment and now the lady from the reception tell me that I have to come back after one more week half nine in the morning to book my appointment with midwife... so I have to wait another one week just to book my appointment with midwife and who know how many weeks I have to wait for it after that.. my baby will come out before I see the midwife.... if you just move in blyth do not make the mistake to register with marine medical group!! Having recently moved to the area and being heavily pregnant, I tried to register on the day of moving, completed the forms and handing them back with ID the following day. I highlighted at the time that I required a midwife appointment as soon as possible, given that I need to book in with them and my hospital of choice. I was told by reception to "ring in a few weeks". I was sent away wondering what was going to happen to my care in the lead up to birth.
A week or so later, as instructed, I rang for an appointment with a midwife and was told they were not giving any away as they are relocating rooms. I highlighted my concerns and was given a phone number for local midwives. I rang this number several times and was just left with it ringing out, no one answering and no message facility.
I contacted the Marine Medical Group again and explained my dilemma, now almost three weeks after completing my registration paperwork- who informed me I was not on their system and could not book an appointment. I reinforced the urgency of my need for an appointment and the receptionist stated she could provisionally book an appointment for me in two weeks, complete registration dependent.
I am left feeling bewildered and frustrated by the services of Marine Medical Group thus far. I am not the first person to relocate in pregnancy and I am sure I won't be the last. The lack of support and ability to get an appointment at a time when I should be seeing a midwife fortnightly is appalling and unfortunately my dealings thus far have left me wondering whether it is somewhere I want to continue attending. |
