Westbourne Surgery

Called for an appointment. Got offered a call back three days later which was okay with me. Three days later they called me twice before 8.40 when I was on the school run. I waited until 11 to call to ask if I was getting another call. After thirty minutes waiting for the call to be answered I was told I might or might not get another call because they only call twice. I explained that I can’t answer calls at that time and that I’d explained that when I called in the first place so I didn’t understand why I was called at that time. The receptionist put the phone down on me mid sentence. If you call at the right time you’ll get a call back. If you’re able to answer the call when they call back then you get to speak to a doctor. If not, then bad luck. Bearing in mind that you have absolutely no idea when they’re going to call you, it’s just not realistic for anybody and especially not people with jobs or school runs. And as for putting the phone down on patients who’ve waited thirty minutes to get through, there’s no excuse really.

Been on hold for 30 minutes - can only assume the surgery is actually closed. My elderly mother in law has had no prescription received so run out of medication and has dementia. No communication or support . I hope when I get through to someone they will help!
