Required a simple blood test, either I wait 6 weeks or travel to Scarborough. I am a pensioner with a trapped nerve in my back, yes I went to Scarborough what happens when the patient is too unwell to make that journey? |

Now Dr meeson has gone the surgery has gone to pot too. I have a rare genetic disorder and years after been told they still do not know what this entails. Prescriptions are all about how much it costs and they often stop meds given by specialists at hospital. Appointments are weeks of waiting to just see locums. Emergency appointments are ring every day to get one which means you end up at a&e to get a lecture from them as to why you didn't see your own g.p. I recently saw a locum who was rude, dismissive and practically accused me of making up my genetic disorder. On walking through the door she commented on my weight and that I must be there about it Because whatever I had must be related to my weight. If she had even bothered to look at my notes, she would have known I lost 10 stone already and that because of my disorder I carry a lot of loose skin. Even so I would never expect a g.p. to make such an insulting comment that was offensive. I spent most of the appointment describing my disorder as she had not the foggiest what my disorder was. 2 mins on the internet would have given her everything she needed instead of insinuating I made the whole thing up. Even worse this was on 27 February the day before national rare disorder and disease day. I told her my knee was bad and she didn't look at it. Then When I asked to be referred to a specialist of my disorder she did not want to. But as they have failed to come up with any care plan of my disorder I felt it was my only resort plus I need to get it categorised as some types have high mortality rates and I have a lot of symptoms falling in these catergories. The wait in the cramped hot waiting room was horrible as was waiting an hour , with Windows that do not open. |
