I had an appointment for my grandson on 3 June 2019 who is suffering from severe exczema and raking his skin continuously he is unable to sleep properly because of it, and the cream his is applying causes him severe stinging when applied. It took me 2 weeks to get an appointment which I was given as 5.45 3 June 2019. On arriving at the practice in Bow I was told we were late and his appointment was 5.15 I politely asked if the doctor would see him and was told by the receptionist a POINT BLANK NO she didnt even offer to consult the doctor to see whether she would see Alfie or not. I do not think it is the receptionists place to make that decision. Since the practice has changed its times etc. it has become so difficult to see a doctor. Alfie is doing his gcse exams and didnt need the stress of today on top of everything else. I am seriously thinking of changing our practice I do not think it is the receptionist decision to make so ver unhelpfull
Sandra Reply from Bow Medical Practice Mon, 03 Jun 2019 19:41:22 +0100 Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback, it is helpful for us to understand where things go wrong so that we can learn from these experiences. Regretfully the appointment was booked for 5.15pm on our system, we are sorry for any error that may have arisen on our part. The reason that the receptionist could not offer a further appointment this evening is that the doctor had an emergency appointment directly after Alfie's slot and is then fully booked until 8pm this evening. The doctors are aware of the situation and have been asked to provide advice. Whilst we appreciate that it does not help today, we offer a text appointment reminder service, if Alfie has a mobile phone and would like to register for appointment reminders please let us know. We also offer an online appointment system which enables patients to book appointments and review forthcoming appointments if this would be helpful we would be happy to arrange access for Alfie. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss this further. If you would like to make a further appointment this week please get in touch and I will do my best to find an appointment to fit with Alfie's exam commitments. Your sincerely Michelle Freeburn - Managing Partner |

We are extremely fortunate to live within the Practice area. The GP’s are all helpful, kind and professional. Our own GP really does go ‘the extra mile’ and makes the time to deliver care that is very like the old-fashioned ‘family doctor’ of years ago, despite the immense pressures that a modern GP works under. All the staff, medical, nursing, admin and dispensary, work well as a team, offering an outstanding level of care to all. I cannot praise them highly enough and they thoroughly deserve their attainment of ‘outstanding’ by the CQC. Recently moved to this Practice and so glad I did.
Quick appointment, GP was polite/friendly and so professional, polite and knowledgeable admin team, super fast referral system. The actual Surgery in its self is modern, bright, airy and so very clean.
For the first time in a long while I feel I am getting the help and assistance I need. Thank you Bow Surgery. |
