Firstly, I have used this doctors since we moved here over 10 years ago, they were originally based in midway but moved to gresley. Last year I booked in for an appointment with a nurse as that was the only option at the time, I was very poorly.. i was not sleeping, eating, hardly could breath and had chest pains, also I was coughing stuff up. The nurse did her checks and could see I was in much discomfort but all her tests did not show anything serious (the nurse was very nice, friendly and calming) she fetched a GP to double check over what she had done as she could see the pain I was in. The GP checked, she was very rude and abrupt and she said 'there is nothing wrong with you at all' I think the way she spoke to me was absolutely disgraceful. I was sent away with no help. The next day I visited the out of hours practise who immediately said I had a chest infection and a sever fever, they prescribed me anti-biptics and said if i would have left it for another day or two i would be coughing up blood and would have been referred to the hospital.
This afternoon at 4:35 I had an appointment booked on which I attended, I spoke to a doctor about why I had booked the appointment, he did his tests as normal. He started to question me about the previous times I have been to the doctors about the issues all around pains on different areas of my body and seemed to name them all as if he was saying I attend a lot.. I do not. He made me feel like I was on trial and I felt humiliated and it made me feel like I always go to the doctors.
I mentioned the issue that I stated above, the doctor seemed not to care and said oh.. and that was it on that situation. I left the doctors with the result of nothing is wrong however we will give you blood tests just in case.
I spoke with my mother and told her what she had happened, I said to her do I really go to the doctors a lot? She said no you hardly go because you do not like to trouble people.
The only reason I did go to the doctors today because my friends and family had advised me to.
I feel angry on how I have been treated and questioned as if I was some sort of person who makes these illnesses up to get in to the doctors, I have been made to feel like I can not trust or attend the doctors with confidence. |
