I was sent by a practice doctor to see a consultant earlier this year as I have CSS and had started to get a feeling of facial paralysis sometimes. The consultant said it was unconnected and he did not know what was causing it. I now have this feeling several times a day plus headaches so went back to the surgery. This time I saw a woman doctor. I explained what was happening and a bit about my close family background as I had never seen her before. Four members deceased over the past 6 years with various cancers including my eldest granddaughter with a high grade 4 glioblastoma brain tumour. Be positive, I was told, stop being negative. I said I was a very positive person and had only mentioned them in case there was a relevance somewhere. I told her my symptoms and that I had been given no answer to what it could be. She instantly said it was connected to my neck problem and was obviously annoyed when I answered that the consultant had told me otherwise. I also asked about what the borderline reference was on my blood test as I have had dilated kidneys from a young age. I was told that yes it referred to my kidney function but taking into consideration my age etc I was considered within the range more or less expected for me. I felt that she was annoyed that I had bothered her and had 'challenged' her authority. In fact I came away feeling none the wiser, not knowing who to believe, the doctor who insisted that my symptoms were connected to my neck problem or the consultant who said they were not. I was made to feel I'd been a nuisance. I didn't know whether to cry or be angry when I got back home but I certainly won't be going back for more. I'll just let nature take it's course and stay well clear in future. |

I worked in a GP surgery for 5 years before moving to Grantham which meant having to join a new surgery. I was a little apprehensive due to previously working so closely wth the Doctors I then saw if I had any issues. However I have to say that despite the negative reviews I saw on here before joining, I have been very pleasantly surprised.
The reception staff are ALWAYS very polite (considering the unfortunate reputation receptionists can sometimes get). I have never experienced this here. Every receptionist has been polite and more than helpful. I also regularly visit the nurses/health care assistants (prob seen about 5 different ones) Every one of them has been so nice, kind and considerate. I'll be honest, I did see one Doctor in which I did have a bad experience. I was quite surprised at the rude way she spoke to me. And that she didn't know the name of one of the medications I was taking. Turned out she was a partner as well, which was a little surprising. However, I just choose to see a different one next time, and they have all been very nice and helpful. Even the doctors that have telephoned after ringing for an emergency appointment, again have always been very helpful.
So overall a good experience, and yes I would recommend. |

I have been with this practice for over thirty years. The reception staff are helpful, friendly and efficient and the doctors provide an excellent, highly professional standard of care. The various health monitoring processes provided are well organised and extremely thorough and administered by kind and sympathetic staff. |
