I have just moved to this area and registered with my local GP surgery. I was told by the receptionist that there were no new patient medicals and there were no female GPs only a locum who was not available. I was also told that if I was not happy then I could register with another practice. I made an appointment to see the GP as I have both heart and respiratory illnesses. The doctor I saw did not look up when I entered the room and I did not feel as though they were interested in me (this is my opinion). I gave my repeat prescription to the receptionist when I registered. I appreciate that my notes have probably not arrived from my previous GP but why does no one want to listen I am on Atorvastatin and my previous GP wrote a note on my records "Do not change this medication" as none of the other statins work on me so I hope this has not been changed at this surgery I have already had heart attacks and stents fitted. I wanted to give my experience as a new patient so that maybe the next new patient would be made to feel more welcome by their new Surgery |

My complaint is with one particular doctor in general. I needed help after an operation. I did not ring for an ambulance nor even a First Responder as I did not want to take up these services. They decided to call but appeared rather unable to touch me and just took my temperature, pulse and wrist blood pressure. Then told they would send the district nurse to take a blood sample. They never arrived. Over a week later, I was told they weren't going to and I had to help myself by going to hospital. I was unable to walk. It was only 2 weeks after my operation and was told this! Not by the doctor but they told reception to tell me. They hadn't even spoken to me to see how I was. I had a temperature of 39c and they could not have cared less. I finally got help elsewhere. Dreadful treatment in every way. I still find it hard to believe! |
