The surgery has a great appointment system where if you need to see a doctor on the same day you always can. I am always able to see the same doctor if I wish, and I am given great understanding of my chronic condition which usually people have issues of gaining medical understanding of. I cannot recommend this surgery more highly. |

Due to a recurrence of angina symptoms I rang for an appointment at about mid day on Friday 15th March and was given one for 5-50 pm that day. Although concerned that I might have been over-reacting, following the consultation it was recommended that I be referred to the N and N U hospital. Expecting a wait of some days for a response from the hospital I was surprised and impressed when the paperwork for booking the hospital appointment arrived on Monday 18th March.
My experience of dealing with the surgery and pharmacy staff over some 28 + years has always been admirable and this is despite the workload and demands on their services increasing exponentially as the village has grown. I am more than happy to be looked after by this team of experts. |

On attending the surgery for removal of staples after knee surgery. (not had this experience before) i was totally amazed to learn afterwards that the practice nurse did not use the sterilised and packaged staple remover that i took along as supplied and instructed by the hospital she just laid it down and got from her drawer what looked like an ordinary pair of wire cutters and cut each one individually. We reported this to the surgeon who performed the op and he was horrified at the procedure that was carried out! He explained the correct way to perform this procedure which was, to press down in the middle of the scissor like instrument which in turn lift up the butterfly like wings underneath the wound in order for the whole staple to be removed whole there were 29 staples to be pulled out, and she then had to pull out 58 pieces from the healing skin which was totally un necessary thus making the removal very stressful. I can only imagine the whole procedure would and should have been much more bearable and less barbaric like! if carried out correctly. These nurses so obviously need proper training, guidance and overseeing. Patients do not need the added stress of being called a ‘baby’ either, very unprofessional. |
