Home Instead (Redditch & Bromsgrove) provided care to my Dad up to when he was admitted to hospital and sadly passed away. The reason I felt compelled to write this review is because of how strongly I felt about my Dad having the right standard of care. I needed to be 100% sure that when I was not at home he would receive the same level of care I would give and also they same compassion. I approached Home Instead on recommendation and I am so very glad I did because the care my Dad received from them was second to none. My Dad had consistency with 2 carers being allocated to him, this consistency enabled both Dad and me to build relationships with the carers very quickly. The relationships became friendships and I have such affection for both as I know my Dad did. They had a natural, unforced, empathy and a genuine commitment to caring for my Dad with his best interests always at heart. The little touches such as foot and lower leg massages whilst they waited for his Parkinson's medication to take effect mattered so much. Each carer was fully briefed on my Dad's medical conditions, associated needs, medication and had received training on Parkinson's prior to their first visits. They also came with their manager to meet us in the home before they started which meant that they were aware of all the OT equipment in place and where everything was kept prior to their arrival. Throughout the period of care I was constantly kept informed of any observations made by the carers and this enabled me to act quickly where necessary with health professionals. The notes kept of their visits were detailed and accurate and their punctuality was excellent. Their manager was excellent, efficient and exceptionally well organised as well as having a wealth of experience in care which just added to the positive experience of using them as a care provider. I felt 100% secure and supported throughout. I can now look back and know in my heart that using Home Instead secured a level of care for my Dad that was second to none prior to his death and i cannot recommend them highly enough. |
