I had a cataract operation in Feb 2014. At my initial appointment the procedure and possible complications were explained before consent forms were produced for signing. The operation was delayed by a couple of weeks, but I was told of this in advance. The operation itself went very well. Not exactly a comfortable experience, but a very supportive team at the treatment centre to help patients. After initial cloudy vision, my sight is not very much better and my eye has healed without problems. Very impressive results. The treatment centre provided post operative support by phone and at a follow appointment. My thanks to the team and no hesitation in recommending the treatment centre for cataract surgery. I was left sat there for hours....In the end I got up and walked out! Bloody joke if you ask me! Why give a patient an appointment but then dont see them for 3 hours later? Original Comment Report... Reply from Care UK Thu, 01 Aug 2013 13:20:22 +0100 Thank you for your comment about waiting times to see the Consultant in Outpatients and we apologise for the delay in your appointment. We endeavour to keep all wait times to a minimum however; at times circumstances beyond our control can cause delays. Since receiving this comment we have reviewed our processes and in order to keep all inform of how long they will need to wait for their appointment we have implemented a communication board into our Reception area. This is updated at regular intervals during the clinic to give an indication of how long the delay is likely to be. In addition to this we have asked our reception team to inform patient as they arrive of any delays |

From the receptionists to the nurses and the surgeon, the service I received was outstanding. There was a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of car spaces, and it was free. Reply from Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Fri, 14 Jul 2017 16:20:46 +0100 We appreciate how important rest is when you are feeling ill and are sorry that you had such difficulty sleeping on Chestnut Ward. The ward sister will remind staff to be mindful of noise levels when speaking to each other at night but, if you are still an inpatient, please make yourself known to her so that she can address some of the issues you have raised. Alternatively, if you want to take the matter further, please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at pals.lewisham@nhs.net or on 020 8333 3355, or email the Patient Experience Team on LG.patientexperienceLGT@nhs.net Kind regards Patient Experience Team. |
