I have to make regular visits to the One Life Centre for my condition. Plus I've also had a hernia operation in the past at this hospital & I couldn't praise the place enough. The reception staff are always polite, friendly & very helpful. I see the doctor regular who is one of the nicest down to earth specialists you could ever wish to meet, a really nice guy & not forgetting being excellent at what he does, they actually saved my life about 9 years ago. Had open inguinal hernia surgery a week ago today, still recovering but would like to say what a great experience going to TVTC was. I was put at ease once called through by the nurse, the surgeon came to see me allaying any pre op nerves I had, the anaesthetists were funny but also calming and very experienced. Post op the nurses were friendly and very helpful whilst I recovered from my general anaesthetic offering me water, coffee and biscuits. Fully drilled on my recovery time, painkillers and general information regarding my condition. In and out in 4 hours, overall very pleased and on my way to a full recovery. I visited tees valley treatment centre on the 3rd february and was extremely dissapointed with the service. The doctor seemed extremely uninterested in the problem i was visiting him with. I was sat in the room roughly 15 minutes not solving anything more when i left than what i arrived. While i was sat in the consultation room i was continuously interrupted with various staff members having enquiries with the doctor and interupting the consulation which i assume was meant to be 'private and confidential' with one member of staff sitting themselves on the bed next to me watching and listening while me and the doctor where reviewing my radiographs! I felt extremely uneasy and quite embarressed. The line of trust and confidentiality was definitley broken. The radiologist who took my X-rays had a very abrupt tone which is not how you expect to be treated when visiting a hospital with 'caring professionals'! Overall very poor professionalism and i will be extremely hesitant to visit tees valley in the future. Not the best impact to make on nervous patients! Original Comment Report... |
