Ive been to Hartlepool hospital several times over the past year to see doctors in endocrinology, gynaecology and gastroenterology. Ive had a positive experiences during every appointment. Each doctor was caring, knowledgeable and kind to me. I felt I was listened to, and believed about my symptoms. Everything was explained clearly to me so I understood, and I feel I was involved in decisions about my care, and overall Im happy with the treatment plans we decided on. I think all the diagnostics Ive had were thorough and got to the root of the problems. Nursing and healthcare staff, as well as non-medical staff were all very helpful and caring, and in general Ive found the attitude from people working at the hospital is patient centred and positive. The only procedure Ive had at this hospital so far was an endometrial biopsy. I felt the doctor and nurse/HCA were very kind and reassuring to me. The biopsy was carried out swiftly and competently and wasnt as bad as I expected. I feel comfortable having follow-up biopsies from this team. I have other procedures upcoming, and I feel safe and happy to have them at this hospital!

Attended for a gastroscopy and was quickly put at ease by every member of staff who I encountered. The whole team were really friendly and the process from admission to discharge was extremely efficient. I felt the staff members within the procedure went above and beyond to make me feel as comfortable as possible. A really excellent team who I would highly recommend!

I recently underwent a hip replacement operation under the care of Mr Siu Cheung Tang and his team. I had never visited Hartlepool Hospital before. I have to say it is the best hospital I have ever been a patient in. All the pre op appointments I attended were undertaken at the times stated. The attention to care & support & not least, empathy with the patient was phenomenal. In spite of the fact that I arrived at the Access Lounge 45 minutes late, due to unforeseen circumstances on the morning of my operation, my admittance proceeded in a relaxed, friendly and totally efficient manner. After my operation I received the highest quality of care from all the nursing personnel on ward 4 - & all given with such lovely smiley faces. I am now home and recuperating well & would just like to voice my thanks to Hartlepool Hospital & all the staff who made my in patient stay such a caring experience. Well done Hartlepool Hospital.
