I am so grateful for the careful consideration and overwhelming compassion you have shown to my son while he was an inpatient with you at Cherry Ward. You have provided a safe haven to enable his journey to recovery. Thank you so much for saving his life. |

My husband was transferred to Aspen from Lime 10 days ago and discharged yesterday, I want to say thank you and share my experience. My husband, waiting for discharge, was still racing whilst there in Aspen, with Christmas and New Year looming, but so grateful that the doctors took a cautious, flexible approach and delayed exit, advising my husband that taking it slowly would ensure success long term and this seemed to calm him down a lot. The doctors are so busy, but patient and generous with their time on the phone or in person and they explained clearly the medication or treatment plans, the best way forward as a family. I think I have learned a lot how the mind works as a result. They always listened well and so understanding, reassuring and encouraging, made me feel positive about the future. I can see my husband is very well and contented now. Thank you again and Happy New Year |

Well, I did not realise that running an adult mental health hospital could be so complicated and precise - doctors, nurses and medication; observations, ward rounds and handovers; the important team reviews and action plans; delicious and healthy food; cleaning and laundry; fun afternoons with music, snookers and games, chat and tea. Yesterday, I talked to my husband’s Social worker on the phone, he was so patient, knowing that it’s a new experience for me; listened and responded well, provided valuable advice which helped my understanding and a prompt referral for further long term and practical help. Today, I visited my husband and came across the most complicated form, pages and pages, called PIP, this was beyond the pale though my husband relished reading it. A designated experienced staff came to the rescue, it had taken him many days to complete as every point substantiated. I feel these examples explain well what these professionals do, highlight and celebrate their work at Lime Ward The support and care goes on and on in Lime ward, keeping my husband and me safe at a critical time. It is touching to see a pair of red hospital socks on my husband’s feet when I couldn’t supply him with clean socks on time, thank you everyone at Callington Road Hospital |
