I had the most amazing midwives during my birth, I was induced and the midwife was nothing but supportive throughout and was completely led by me but also I felt I was able to tell my midwife how I wanted them to react in a certain situation. I tried to give birth naturally for 12hrs before an emergency c section and the care I received from my midwife was absolutely amazing. The second midwife took over for her shift and supported me through the c section, she was reassuring and extremely calm. The theatre team and doctor who delivered my baby were extremely calm throughout the c section, explained absolutely everything, played my selected music and ensured I was informed of what was happening the whole way through. I couldn’t have had a better experience and they all got my baby here safe. I also had to be readmitted after I was discharged due to my baby having jaundice, the wards were amazing and supported me through the night when needed hands on or just advice when asked, no hesitation. When it was time to be discharged the midwife and the NICU nurse, despite being extremely busy on the ward, supported to get me home as I requested that same night with all of the meds, advice and care I needed.
