Following a minor surgery I have a hole in my gum where I had a procedure done. Tried multiple times to call Maxillofacial department by the number given but put into holding loop for over 10 minutes every time - Dont have time to sit waiting for someone to answer the call. The extension number provided doesnt seem to work. Also had same problem trying to call earlier in the year. Emailed the department secretary 5 days after the procedure and still not heard anything. Have had to book a follow up appointment from the procedure with my own NHS dentist but have had to wait 4 days to be seen by them (Being seen by own dentist tomorrow).

I was admitted for a colonoscopy on Oct 1st.,2023 08.15. My blood sugar was too high. I was put on 2 drips and had my blood sugar tested very regularly. All the staff on the unit were run off their feet, but they looked after me very well indeed. In the end 12.40 ish I was taken for the colonoscopy. I felt some pain despite sedation , but the Doctor and nurses in the room said I’d done very well. On the down side, I tried to phone the department ,re being rung about the procedure. I tried for 30 minutes ,all 3 options. I even rang QEQM endoscopy unit ,but got the same frustrating answer machine. I was rung 2 days before the procedure and felt better for being talked to, coz I had a few important questions re meds etc. I gave the staff on the unit a home made thank you card ,coz they deserved the praise I gave them.
