My daughter , a boarder @ Oakham School was sent by the medical centre for the school to be seen by the hospital. The problem is a rash covering the whole body. The girl is to start ifnal IB examinations in two days. The Hospitel turned her down for adminsitrative reasons twice today , e.g. like not being registered which is ridiculous for a boarder girl, where the school ensures that they all are registered. Finally being attended by a teacher an appointment materialized. Original Comment Report... |

After telephoning 111 service at 11.30 am on a Saturday, I spoke with the doctor on duty.
He was extremely knowledgeable, empathetic and helpful. I had to travel approx 14 miles, but this is far less than the 20 mile journey to my local large A&E hospital.
I was duly offered a appointment for 12.30pm.
I arrived 5 minutes early, and the Doctor was waiting for me in reception ! Having been called in immediately, a thorough consultation and examination was then conducted.
I had been in extreme pain since 2am, and he was exceedingly gentle and thorough......prescribing a variety of medications, which my partner was able to collect from the pharmacy situated next door to the hospital immediately.
Arrived back home around 1.30pm.....WOW ! My pain has now been alleviated.
I cannot speak highly enough of this service....... thank you, thank you, thank you. Original Comment Report... |

We visited a past work colleague who was recuperating after surgery in Leicester.
Finding the hospital is not difficult, it is reasonably well signposted within Oakham, but we were surprised that it was not identified on our generally well-up-to-date on-board GPS. So, if you are unfamiliar with the area we suggest that you make sure that you enter the Post Code in your GPS and keep a good lookout for the entrance to the car park (the hospital is screened by trees and is not a tower block!).
We had no information re where our colleague was located within the hospital. A name was sufficient at Reception to readily elicit some directions, and this was subsequently repeated with another member of staff as we homed in on our destination. Conclusion – the staff know the patients.
Everything we saw during our visit was fine. The car parking arrangements are an added bonus; the polar opposite of many hospitals. Original Comment Report... |
