Mountside Residential Care Home

This was an emergency respite placement two and a half years ago....and we have never looked back. The welcoming atmosphere is striking as soon as you walk through the door. The home is clean and....homely; the staff friendly and caring. I have always noted that the residents are treated with the utmost respect by the carers, and are treated as individuals. My experience has been that my mother has generally been treated more as a family member that needs looking after, as one would hope, rather than merely the recipient of a job of work. Care is always shown for the preservation of her dignity, and it is obvious that, as far as possible, much score is placed on ensuring that the staff who are recruited have the correct balance of empathy and professionalism. The home has recently benefitted massively from a beautiful new extension which would give any well respected hotel a run for its money. The management are hands-on, approachable, extremely accommodating and receptive to any reasonable requests. Concerns and comment are genuinely welcomed, and acted on where necessary. Those in charge do not rest on their laurels, and it is apparent from talking to them that they are constantly seeking ways to improve the lives of the residents to the extent that they can. When things go wrong, as they invariably do from time to time, this is recognised and rectified as promptly as possible. The atmosphere within the home always appears to be a happy one. Whilst few people would choose to go into a residential home, in both my mother's and my opinion, it is doubtful that she could have found anywhere better.
