Very regularly 1or 2 of the medicines on prescription is unavailable and to get that you need to make another 2 visits at least. I went today to get some tablets which Boots owed us from yesterday. I was handed another 2 months worth of medicine same as What we got yesterday without the missing tablets. So now we have 4 months of tablets but none of the other. 10- 12 yrs ago Boots was a very efficient pharmacy. The way things are now we would probably be taking our prescription elsewhere. What a shame!! |

I have been using Boots Pharmacy, High Street Taunton for the past 12 months.
The service has been of a poor standard.
Repeated problems:
* Dispensing staff's inability to 'find' prescriptions
* Dispensing staff unprofessional attitude towards colleagues in primary and secondary care (often blaming others for their ineptitude)
* Prolonged waiting times for prescriptions to be filled/made up and dispensed
* Poor communication to patients if an item cannot be sourced (despite having contact details, they fail to contact patients if a medication unavailable - so often left without drugs for days on end)
* Questionable safety, medicines management and safeguarding. On several occasions the pharmacy staff have dispensed the incorrect prescription! Concerning, especially for those patients whose comprehension or capacity is affected.
* Provision of 'partial prescriptions' ie staff only giving one package of medication and forgetting to provide/hand out remaining items. This is a distinct problem, especially as people with numerous medicines do not want to unpack their drugs, in public, on the shop floor.
Despite raising these issues, verbally, on several occasions, nothing has changed or practice reviewed.
Hence, the decision to complain via this forum and in writing to the pharmacy manager.

Dreadful service , my family have been collecting my prescriptions for me telling me what awful service they had had.
So I decided to find out for myself . put repeat prescription in to my doctors 10 day before giving them good time to get it organized . Went into pharmacy only to wait 30 minutes to find out that it had not been completed , that I should come back .
The whole place was so disorganized , no one knowing who patients were or when they needed they prescriptions.
I was told that they were a week behind with filling prescriptions , due to shortage of staff.
So I said ok I will come back later in the day again confusion . Which I did again more confusion only to be told we are behind with filling prescriptions.
After another 20-30 min delayed received prescription .
I really do think as a retired RGN working over 30 in NHS, that there back log of unfilled prescriptions should have been sourced out to other pharmacy's in the local area & patients with contact details should have been notified.
No where in the pharmacy was there a notice saying that they were having problems , just a lot of very confused staff.
They need to have a good overall of this this pharmacy with regard's to its practices & polices.
I think I shall be taking prescription elsewhere , which is annoying as this is the nearest one to me .
Some new practices need to be put in places very soon . |
