Attwoods Manor Care Home

My relative was in this home for six months (we moved her out recently) and in that time had only one bath. She was dressed in other peoples clothes (despite having a wardrobe full of her own) and others were dressed in hers. She was not put in a bra for two weeks!! Total lack of dignity. She told us that she was woken at 6.30am by a carer pulling her quilt over and saying 'time to get up'. No 'good morning or anything', On a number of occasions when we visited, residents we sitting around in wheelchairs rather than the chairs, with only one member of staff available, the other three were sitting outside on breaks. There were no activities for the residents, they just sat around with a tv playing in the background. No social communication between any of them and the carers other than when they were taken to the toilet or attended to. The carers i dealt with were nice people and seemed to care for the residents but they didn't have the time, due to staff shortages, to do anything for them other than the basic needs, nor did they appear to have the support of the management. They were working twelve hour shifts. The dementia patients had nothing to help with their condition, i.e a memory room, and sometimes just wandered around the home. Complaints from myself and my relative to the manager and the owner were not taken seriously and not acted upon. In fact, when I complained to the owner, instead of attempting to sort the issues, they immediately offered to contact social services to get her moved. We did this ourselves within a 4 day period, best move we ever made. Absolutely disgraceful.
